Asante’ Hardin
Hardin was the 2018 Markland Motivates scholarship recipient for $1,000. Asante’ graduated from Lawton Senior High School in 2018 and is currently a Junior at Cameron University studying Meteorology. Asante’s long-term goal is to work in television as a tv weather anchor or work behind the scenes at a news station.
Marcus Ervin
Ervin is a 2019 graduate from Lawton Senior High School and a recipient of a $500.00 scholarship. In high school school, Marcus was involved in Track & Field as well as the Ebony society. Currently, Marcus is a sophomore at Cameron University where his completing his basic and plans to major in Engineering. Marcus states “his challenge as an African American male has motivated him to do the best, he can do to break down stereotypes.
Markiese Boykin
Boykin is a 2019 graduated from Lawton Senior High School and a $1,000 recipient of the Markland Motivates Scholarship. At Lawton High School, Markiese was involved with the Ethics Debate team, Ebony club, and the National Honor Society. Markiese is currently a sophomore at Centenary College in Louisiana where he majors History. Markiese’s long term goal is to attend Law school and fight societal injustices such as hate crimes, trafficking, and domestic terrorism.
Eric Wiley
Wiley is a 2020 graduate from Lawton Senior High School and a recipient of a $1,500 Markland Motivates scholarship. During his time at Lawton High School, Eric maintained at 4.3 Grade Point Average while excelling in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. Eric received the “Excellence in the Classroom Certificate, an “A” society Member of Gold Tassel, and the White Honor sash award. Eric was also extremely active in his church, Lawton First Assembly Church. Eric is currently completing his freshmen year where he is majoring in Computer Science.
